Here’s the xterm definition from the standard xterm

notice the “:kn#18:” i.e. it has 18 function keys. I can add kU but I’d need to change kn#18 to kn#31.

From the Character-based Querying and Reporting Tools User Guide:

Appendix C, the table “Commands Needed for Function Keys (Linux)”

“kn The number of function keys available; for example, this is specified as
kn#18 on the VT100. You can have a maximum value of 40 for the number
of function keys."

How do I do that? I thought I was doing that by adding kU to the termcap file.

By the way, "\E[1~:" was what was displayed when I pressed shift-home.
