Hi Michael

In Unix we need to set our path to pick up the ingres stuff relevant to our shell...is there an equivalent in Windows?

Cron equivalent is Windows Task Scheduler which you'll find in Control Panel Admin Tools. It works and is easy enough to use, actually a bit more powerful than Cron.

You can write some batch files (.bat), Powershell Scripts (.ps1) or install a bash shell and use bash.

We don't run Ingres on Windows (of course!) but we use Powershell for our other windows scripting.

Hi All,

Much to my horror I've had to install a server on a windows box....Ugh, I feel unclean.

How do you automate batch scripts to do basic maintenance such as backups, modifies and optimizes? If anyone has a sample script and some pointers on what the cron equivalent is on Micropox then I'd be very grateful to see them.
