You might be thinking of Enterprise Access http://www.actian.com/products/operational-databases/ingres/#EA-EDBC - at the moment it does not have support for MySQL (see previous URL and/or docs at docs.actian.com). If that is a backend you'd be interested in it is worth reaching out to your local sales person, it helps use determine what new features are important.

The other option to consider would be http://www.actian.com/products/operational-databases/ingres/connectedingres/ which I believed would do what you need without needing to write any code. Worth checking with your local Actian office.
