If you're using MVCC you should leave the lock isolation levels alone. The majority of bugs found with MVCC relate to people changing the underlying lock isolation levels.
If your application is written with MVCC in mind you should not need to tinker with the lock isolation levels anyway.

Can you mix ANSI sessions with MVCC ones?

For example, one session issuing 
SET TRANSACTION/SESSION ISOLATION MVCC
and the other
SET TRANSACTION/SESSION ISOLATION REPEATABLE READ

isn't there conflict?
