[Info-ingres] Upgrading Ingres 9.2 to 10.2 - are there know problems ?

The last Ingres upgrade I did involving VMS was also a migration to
Windows (not my choice at all!) so I haven't done the upgrade you are
facing. I mention it only because what we did was probably much harder
and yet it was not a big deal.

Obviously we had no option of using upgradedb in that case, but using
upgradedb is often harder than it should be. 

I've come to the view that if you can, you should plan to do an
unload/reload. That also gives the option of running peer installations
for a while, which is a comfort, and it fails safe too.

No.

As always with an upgrade you may find it shakes out bugs that were
always there but didn't manifest. And sometimes amongst all the
improvements there may be one or two query plans that will need some
attention. 

9.2 to 10.2 is pretty painless in my experience.

PS: You are getting in just under the wire, aren't you?! :-)  In case
anyone has overlooked it, 9.2 goes onto extended support with a 100%
increase in the subscription price at the end of the month.
