[Info-ingres] Number and Size of Transactions

You can easily get the number of transactions processed in an interval
and you can get it from IMA if you need to. The simplest way to get it
though, would be to execute 

   logstat -statistics

The "Transaction ends" counter is what you are interested in.

If you want to know the cumulative "size" of the transactions look at
"Kbytes written". That may not mean what your colleague hopes it means
though, because it doesn't distinguish all the records written for
non-updating transactions. It also includes everything done by
transactions that ultimately got rolled back.
