Hi All,

I'm trialling the recovery of an x100 database. This means that I copy all the backups, dumps, journals and their vector equivalents to my recovery platform and do the rollforwarddb there. The basic process works well for non x100 enabled databases and the extension to allow for the extra bits seemed easy enough...

However the recovery fails as follows:

Thu Oct 24 11:12:47 2019 RFP: Preparing for database rollforward on : records

Thu Oct 24 11:12:47 2019 RFP: The Archiver must drain any active log records

: from the Log File to the Journal Files before

: Rollforward can proceed. If the Archiver is

: not running this program will not continue.

: If this is the case, exit this program and have

: the appropriate person restart the archiver.

Thu Oct 24 11:13:51 2019 RFP: Commit id 14485 not found in journals

Thu Oct 24 11:13:51 2019 E_DM1380_RFP_INVALID_JNL Rollforwarddb records #c8

Journals are not valid from checkpoint 8.

Journal processing will start at checkpoint 8, however journals taken

after checkpoint 8 can not be applied. The final state of the database

may not match its state previous to the start of rollforward.

Rollforward will not proceed unless the '#f' flag has been specified.

The '#f' flag must be used to rollforward using invalid journals.

Thu Oct 24 11:13:51 2019 E_DM1307_RFP_RESTORE Error occurred restoring checkpoint.

Thu Oct 24 11:13:51 2019 E_DM1301_RFP_ROLL_FORWARD An error occurred that prevents further processing.

Sadly there isn't any extra information available in the errlog.

The vector journals on the source host for ckp#8 are:

805527478 0 -rw------- 1 ingres ingres 0 Oct 20 20:56 ./0/location_map.part

24962 12 -rw------- 1 ingres ingres 9532 Oct 21 21:00 ./1/main.wal.part

24964 4 -rw------- 1 ingres ingres 224 Oct 21 21:00 ./1/map.0

537383049 0 -rw------- 1 ingres ingres 0 Oct 23 21:04 ./3/location_map.part

537383028 12 -rw------- 1 ingres ingres 9532 Oct 23 21:04 ./3/main.wal.part

537383050 4 -rw------- 1 ingres ingres 224 Oct 23 21:04 ./3/map.0

537383041 4 -rw------- 1 ingres ingres 448 Oct 23 21:04 ./backup_sets

And I have confirmed that all these files are in place on my recovery host.

What have I missed?
