There's nothing in VDBA.

Not sure. There is some sort of query tool but I've not used it.

QBF is a type of "query by example" tool. They were a hot topic
in the 1970s. Although other vendors had/have QBF/QBE tools the idea
doesn't seem to have caught on. There are no modern, DBMS-agnostic,
open source equivalents of QBF AFAIK. 

One problem I always had with QBF--and it's got no better in the last 30
years--is database designers' fetish for encoding data. They won't store
order status as 'FILLED' if they can encode it as 9.
