That's not really possible.

If a process (session) starts a child process (install), and the parent process (session) terminates, the child process if detached becomes an orphaned process (zombie).
The main Linux process (init) inherits the orphaned process and you can't get it back. If the install process is still running, it has to be killed and a new one restarted.

Subject: [Info-ingres] Ingres 11 Install

Hi there

Running the Ingres 11 install script on a test box running Solaris 10, Ingres 10.2; using the upgradedb approach.

Ran out of space on the test box while running the install. I believe the install script stalled waiting for user input. However, the session which started the install process no longer exists or is no longer attached to the install script.

How can I attach another session to the install process and thus continue on from where it has stalled?

Thanks
