[Info-ingres] weird relocatedb error

Hi All,

Problem solved.

In the data area there was a dot file from an NFS silly file rename. Specifically the file:

> -rw------- 1 ingres ingres 0 Nov 21 14:13 .nfs0000000000131479000000d9

We couldn't rm it or even lsof it, even after an ingres restart. We had to bounce the box to remove any processes holding it open. Having restarted everything we could finally rm the file and now the relocatedb works perfectly.

It's annoying that the relocatedb utility didn't get more verbose when it encountered the problem.

Subject: weird relocatedb error

Hi All,

On Ingres 11.

relocatedb -ubiobank bbappt_training -new_database=fred2
Thu Nov 30 11:40:02 2017 E_DM150B_RELOC_CP_FI_ERR Error copying files from the old location (ii_database) to the new location (ii_database).
Thu Nov 30 11:40:04 2017 E_DM1507_RELOC_ERR Error occurred while processing the DATABASE relocation request.

There is no further detail in the errlog.

The source database has no x100 tables.

We have used unloaddb to make a different copy of the source database and we can relocatedb that database without a problem.

We have done a shutdown and restart of the installation.

Anyone got any ideas?
