It is, and it is punctillious about indentation. That was something that
grated on me for a long time too. But I've actually come around to the
idea and might even be persuaded to say I value it.

There are two. Active Perl and Strawberry Perl. I feel about perl the
way you probably feel about Python so don't ask me which is better. As
the American Airlines cabin crew once told me when I asked her if I'd
prefer the chicken over the beef, she replied, "They're both nasty."

The syntax is the least of you problems. It's a matter of becoming
familiar with a vast library of classes and methods that apply only to
Windows. The learning curve may feel flatter if you're already steeped
in "Micropox" culture, but I am not.
