[Info-ingres] Turning off flattening for a view

I fear I know the answer to this question, but here goes...

I have a query with a subquery where the optimizer fails to take a
constant restriction into account. It chooses a QEP with gigantic
table scan then a join with the temporary table.

By turning off flattening it does an SE join instead, which gives me the
right result instantly.

Is there a way to make SET NOFLATTEN part of the view definition? I
don't want people to have to know to turn flattening off when they use
the view.

PS: the customer is still on 9.2 but they're in the process of upgrading
to 10.2. I'm sorta hoping the problem just "goes away" in 10.2.
