[Info-ingres] Mad crazy hackery

Is it possible, in principle, to install Ingres "manually" on Windows? 

The machine I'm looking at seems to have an unwell Windows Installer
Service and I can't find anyone here who knows that particular
witchcraft. (It won't even install WinZIP, never mind Ingres.
msiexec.exe just sits there consuming CPU time.)

If there's a way to manhandle Ingres onto the machine I am willing.
